On their breeding grounds in Canada White-crowned Sparrows are common and conspicuous with the males regularly singing from exposed perches.
In their more southerly wintering grounds, they are found in small flocks, often associated with White-throated Sparrows. In Maryland and Delaware they are relatively uncommon.
